Dri Boss DBE500

The DriBoss DBE-500 Evaporator is a short-throw fan-driven design (100 feet or 30 meters) designed for simple and reliable operation in small areas.

The DBE-500 is a mobile unit, designed to be easily moved around your site. This mobility allows operators to quickly reposition the unit to take advantage of changing wind direction and speed. This unit is simple to use, easy to maintain, energy efficient and quiet — an excellent overall value.

features

  • Low Plume Height for shorter drift distance, allowing longer operation in swirling or changing winds.
  • Teflon® Spiral Nozzles reduce fouling and clogging and provide for easy cleaning.
  • Mobile Unit allows easy repositioning to take advantage of changing wind direction and speed.

benefits

  • Mobility: The DBE-500 Evaporator is designed to move easily around your site, allowing one operator to reposition the unit to take advantage of changing wind direction and speed.
  • Smaller Footprint: The DBE-500 Evaporator is designed to throw water droplets about 100 feet (30 meters) in calm conditions, allowing control of droplet drift within a smaller area and providing customers with an evaporator that can be used where larger machines cannot.
  • Excellent Performance: The high air velocity from our unique fan and barrel design combines with optimized water droplets to accelerate evaporation. Annual evaporation rates up to 75% have been achieved, with averages typically between 25 and 65%. Actual rates depend upon many factors, including ambient temperature, relative humidity, water make-up and wind.
  • Easy To Maintain: Designed for easy cleaning and maintenance, with a fan motor developed for long life in wet conditions. Pre-lubricated, sealed bearings eliminate the need for weekly or monthly lubrication.
  • Extreme Duty: The DBE-500 design has evolved from 10 years of experience in industrial and extreme outdoor applications. Critical components are manufactured from stainless steel for extended life in harsh environments.

Why Evaporate?

Evaporation is considered as an alternative process to a number of wastewater treatment applications, such as reverse osmosis, chemical dosing or desalination.

The evaporation process may be carried out naturally in solar evaporation ponds (which is slow and requires a great deal of area) or by mechanical evaporation. Natural solar evaporation is often limited by land availability and the cost of constructing additional storage ponds, not to mention the added cost of clean-up and re-vegetation.

Evaporation machines can significantly enhance the evaporation process, with up to 14 times more efficiency than pond evaporation. DriBoss® evaporation machines are relatively compact, reliable and efficient and can be transported to different sites as necessary. They can be a low-cost addition to improve evaporation rates and volumes on existing containment ponds or to minimize new pond surface area.
